The O’ level chemistry tuition program is primarily conducted by Mr Jeffrey Ang. Lessons are repeated multiple times per week. Various lesson structures are available to cater to the different learning needs of students:

  1. Lectures and Tutorials
  2. Intensive revision & head-start program
  3. One-to-one coaching

These diversities allow us to reach out to students with different needs, as we understand through experience that every student has a unique learning methodology that best suits them. Our rigorous program, coupled with excellent materials and delivery by our Chemistry tutor allows us to be widely recognised as the best Chemistry tuition for O’ level students in Singapore.

Lecturer: Mr Jeffrey Ang

An ex-MOE teacher with more than 10 years of teaching and tutoring experience.

After pursuing his sponsored studies at the National University of Singapore (NUS), he went on to complete his Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) at the National Institute of Education. He subsequently taught at the junior college and secondary school levels. In schools, he was actively involved in the review of lesson materials and setting and marking of tests and examinations.

His familiarity with both the ‘O’ and ‘A’ syllabus allows him to impart concepts often not taught in school. By simplifying abstract concepts, students are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to meet the demands of the new syllabus.

Lessons are conducted in Lecture/ Tutorial style.

Students and parents often comment that it is difficult for students to ‘apply’ concepts learnt when answering test and examination questions and this often results in lacklustre performance, despite having ‘studied very hard’.

In our lessons, the sub-topics are sequenced very carefully. At the end of a sub-topic, appropriate examples are provided to expose the students to the context that concept(s) may be tested. This reinforces understanding.On top of that, specially-selected questions are provided for students to attempt.

This approach allows the student to

  1. reinforce and strengthen understanding;
  2. develop important examination skills;
  3. correct misconceptions immediately
  4. bridge the ‘application’ gap.

Yes sure! We offer multiple time slots for the same level within the same week. The lessons are repeated and exactly the same. No stress when you cannot make it for your usual slot, there is always a make up class available for you.

Video recorded lessons are also available for viewing for students who miss the entire week of lessons.

Yes. Homework will be given, where appropriate, so that students can have sufficient opportunities to apply the concepts learnt in the programme. At the same  time, lesson time can be utilised more effectively for learning.

Yes. The curriculum for most IP schools follow the ‘O’ Level syllabus very closely, with some A-level concepts. The Chemistry concepts taught in this programme  are very similar to what is taught in schools. Students can feel free to approach Mr Ang to clarify doubts for portions where there are differences. Mr Ang’s experience in teaching A-level Chemistry makes him well-positioned to teach Chemistry to IP students.

Yes. The rigour of the programme will allow combined science students to have a deeper conceptual understanding of the syllabus content and thus do well for  the Chemistry section of the paper.

For combined science students aspiring to read Chemistry at the Junior College level, attending the lessons for topics such as Electrochemistry, Ammonia, Macromolecules (which are not in the Combined Science Syllabus) would ensure that they are as well prepared as their counterparts who read Pure Chemistry in Secondary School.

Yes sure! We always have new students coming in who may need help for previously-taught chapters.

You can choose from either of the following:

  1. As all our lessons are video recorded, you may view our recorded lessons at a discounted rate, followed by a consultation session to clarify any questions that you may have.
  2. We will run crash courses every school holiday to readdress all the major chapters that were previously taught. You may want to attend the crash courses during the March, June and September school holidays to catch up on previously-taught chapters. All crash courses will be conducted by Mr Jeffrey.

Max Teow (ACS (BR)):

Jeffrey’s Chemistry lessons are organised and easy to understand. He makes memorising complex Chemistry concepts easy. What I found most useful was that he showed me how certain concepts could be tested together with different topics. He exposed me to a variety of questions and this made me more prepared for the different types of questions that came out for the exams.

Denise Ang (TKGS):

Jeffrey has made learning Chemistry simpler by teaching us various techniques for memorising facts and chemistry terms. This is especially so for Organic Chemistry, where there is so much content to memorise! The additional practice questions that he gave us after each topic allowed us to strengthen our understanding of the content and trained us to apply the concepts we had learnt.

Shannae Chng (MGS):

Mr Ang is a very patient and approachable teacher. He is good at helping me visualize chemical bonding and I found his notes very helpful. He also taught me skills like how to answer Chemistry open-ended questions. With only mediocre results for chemistry initially, I started improving steadily after I started going for tuition and managed to obtain an A1 for GCE O level Chemistry.
