Our Team

This is not an understatement – our team is truly the secret to our success. Each of our tutors is amazing in their own ways, but together they are what makes Making Sense such a fun and rewarding place to work at.  The team is a tight-knit, talented group with a shared vision of delivering great value to our students, as well as ensuring that Making Sense is a fun, inclusive, challenging place to work and develop a rewarding career.

We’re very proud of the team we’ve built – each of us is passionate about helping our students achieve academic success, as well as mentoring them as they navigate through the challenging demands of teenage years.

Clarity

A skilled and experienced tutor can deliver a concept with far more precision and clarity. On-boarding tutors are put through a mentorship programme with senior tutors. Making Sense tutors are trained to break down complex concepts into bite-sized pieces, and to explain in layman terms. Often, we use everyday analogies to help students better appreciate the fascinating possibilities of Science.

Charisma

Understanding our students and building strong rapport with them will help us better serve their needs. Our tutor mentorship programme hones every aspect of our tutors’ skills – from effective classroom management and precision of delivery to even small but important details such as stage presence and how to best interact with students. It is our goal to arouse genuine curiosity for Science and Chemistry through our passion and love for teaching.

Commitment

Weekly team meetings are conducted to impart skills such as effective classroom management, teaching pedagogy and how to best deliver explanations to maximise learning. Such discussions pave the way for constant key improvements to the overall classroom experience of our students.

Teachers also share feedback on lesson materials to ensure we are always refining our comprehensive classroom resources.
